Next Thursday, May 18, we are having our next Sourwood poetry reading. Our featured poet this month is Angelo Geter.

Geter is Winthrop’s director of campus programming and has been writing and performing poetry since his was a kid.

“Born with the spirit of a tidal wave and the heart of an eagle,” says Geter. “I came into this earth with a pen in my hand and I’ve been flying ever since. Changing the impurities of this world and mold them into works of art. One poem, one laugh and one life at a time.”

Come out to The Newsstand on Main St. from 7-8pm next Thursday to hear him share his work and share your own during the open mic part of the evening.
