En plein air is an expression which means “in the open air” and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors\, which is also called peinture sur le motif (“painting of the object(s) or what the eye actually sees”).
\nYou are invited to take up your brush or pencil and join us for a day of creating in the great outdoors.

\n< h4>SITE SPECIFIC:\nM.C.’s Horse Acreage is NOT little child friend ly. (fire ants\, electric wire\, all sorts of dangerous stuff in the garag e\, overgrown fish pond\, etc.)

The African Hall is gone…and a
new Pleistocene Hall is under construction. We will have the Naturalist C
enter and the Piedmont Galleries and Know Your Nature Gallery with spots o
pen.
We do have a few table and floor easels available to show com pleted artwork (has to be nature oriented and family friendly!) Our classr oom will be used for our younger visitors to create some artwork of their own.
\nPlease let friends and family know about this event so they c an enjoy art and nature on a winter’s day.
\nWe provide snacks and l ight lunch for our artist guests. All food and drink must be kept downstai rs in our lounge areas and is not allowed on the main floor or in the gall eries due to our sensitive taxidermy collections.
